MEET THE TEAM
Debbie Rodriguez, President
Debbie Rodriguez has been a volunteer at CCAS for the past 7 years. She started her Youtube channel "loveglacier1" to help promote the underdogs at the shelter. Her focus is on the medical needs for the dogs, senior dogs, shy dogs…well just about any dog needing help getting out. She has built an audience of over 1,000 subscribers and millions of views of the shelter animals. By creating Youtube videos for these shelter dogs, Debbie discovered that this was an effective way to find them they're forever homes. When she's not at the shelter, she is either working at her mortgage company, or enjoying time with her three dogs and human friends and family.
Tammy Rieser, Secretary
Tammy has been involved with animals and rescue work for some time. She has volunteered with Contra Costa Humane for 30+ years, Valley Humane doing Pet Therapy work, Paws to Read Children's Reading Program for 19 years, Contra Costa Animal Services 2006-2016, and Volunteers with SCDR Southern California Dachshund Relief in addition to Independent Corgi Rescue. She is presently owned by 9 cats and 5 dogs. Her husband Brad is great at helping socialize all the foster dogs and cats that she takes in. Her day job is the Team Lead for Cup Operations at F'real Foods, an AWESOME Milkshake beverage company in Emeryville.
Joanna Soroka, Advisor
Joanna has been an avid pet lover all her life. Her parents instilled two important values in her - patience and respect. These values are resonated in how Joanna handles the shelter dogs as well as her own animals. Joanna and her husband Janusz, are presently owned by 3 dogs - Rex, Romeo and Zorra and 1 cat - Maya. Joanna started Volunteering at CCAS 4 years ago. That is where she met Debbie Rodriguez, our President. She immediately jumped in to help and her specialty is working with the smaller dogs. She feels they are the most vulnerable in a shelter environment. Joanna is one of our primary posters for our Facebook page. Her passion is to convey the dogs and their emotions so people have a window to their soul.
Marty Jansen, Treasurer
A lifelong animal lover, Marty Jansen has been a supporter of animal rescue work for many years. Marty enjoys helping out with the foster dogs and helping them with their socialization skills. His witty personality keeps the dogs smiling. Marty has over 30 years experience working in the financial industry.
Alex Mishkit, Web Designer & Tech Support
Alex Mishkit has been a huge dog lover since day one. Her passion for helping animals in need grew when she rescued her sweet, German Shepard Mix, Koda, from the Pinole Shelter. After seeing how many animals needed loving homes, Alex knew she wanted to get more involved. Alex is also an esthetician and the owner of Alex Cher Beauty located in Lafayette, Ca. In her free time, she loves to spend quality time with her family and friends.
